China's industrial robot market is continuing to grow. On July 5th, the latest data released at the “2017 China International Robot Industry Development Summit Forum” showed that the total consumption of industrial robots in China market in 2016 reached 89,000 units, an increase of 26.6% over 2015. Among them, domestic robots sold a total of 29,000 units, an increase of 30.9%.
At the same time, this year the domestic robot industry will continue its good development with great probability. According to the order quantity data of the member companies of China Robot Industry Alliance statistics, 43.8% of enterprises have increased orders by more than 30% this year, and 43.8% of enterprises have added orders of 10%-30%.
Xu Lijin, chairman and general manager of the industrial robot manufacturer "Eft Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd." said that this year the domestic industrial robot industry is expected to usher in a "climax", "just like the 2001 automotive industry."
"China's industrial robot industry is in the early stage of development, and it is not easy to achieve such results." Qu Daokui, president of China Robot Industry Alliance and president of Xinsong Robot Automation Co., Ltd., told the 21st Century Business Herald.

Market will explode
According to the latest data released by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), global industrial robot sales increased by 14% to 290,000 units in 2016.
“The demand from Chinese companies is expected to drive double-digit growth in the industrial robot market,” Paul said. The official report of IFR also predicts that although the entire Asian market will usher in the explosive growth of industrial robots, by 2019, 40% of global robot sales will be in the Chinese market.
With the development of industry 4.0, industrial transformation and upgrading, and demographic adjustment, China has become the largest industrial robot market, and according to the development trend, this is only the beginning.
According to IFR statistics, the number of industrial robots per 10,000 people in the world is 69, and China is only 49. Compared with industrialized countries such as Japan, Germany, South Korea, and the United States, the gap in China is relatively obvious. Therefore, the industry generally believes that there is still room for development.
"The Chinese robot market will continue to grow in the next 10-15 years, no problem." Qu Daokui said. China Robotics Network also expects that the industry's compound annual growth rate will be 19.8% in the next five years, and the sales of industrial robots will reach 210,000 units in 2021.
Many manufacturing companies are optimistic about the industry outlook. According to a survey from industry associations, nearly half of the companies received orders for growth of more than 30% year-on-year this year, and some even said that "orders can't be done."
"The 13th Five-Year Plan and the 2025 for the next few years will continue to be a key period for the development of China's manufacturing industry, and it will be a golden period for the focus of the robot industry and overall promotion." Luo Junjie, deputy director of the Equipment Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said .

Domestic robots are making rapid progress
According to data from the Tianxing Capital Institute, there are currently more than 40 robotic industrial parks in China, and nearly 2,000 robotics companies.
However, the industry's views on the measurement standards of robot companies are controversial. Qu Daokui said that the claims of thousands of robot companies are not accurate. The entire robot industry chain is composed of core components, robot body manufacturing and system integration from upstream to midstream to downstream, but it cannot be called robot company in general.
"There are not many companies that really do robots in China. They have their own technology, design and research and development capabilities, and then set some requirements on the scale and occupancy rate. There are less than 10 integrations." Qu Daokui said frankly.
According to the data of the Tianxing Capital Institute, among the top 20 robot companies in the world, there are 16 Japanese companies, 2 in South Korea, 1 in Sweden and 1 in Germany. The patent application period of each company has remained basically over 20 years. The top 20 applicants in the field of industrial robots are mainly universities and scientific research institutions. The enterprises only have the State Grid and Shenyang Xinsong.
However, the situation is getting better. According to data from the China Robotics Industry Alliance, domestic multi-joint robots accounted for 21.5% of the market segment in 2016. And a few years ago, this figure was only 5%. “In the high-end market, Chinese robot products have made rapid progress,” Qu Daokui said.
