Membrane industry science and technology plans to try new models

Sinochem New Network News On April 24th, the Zijin Forum 2011, a film technology industry that aims to explore deeper issues in the development of the film industry, came to a close in Nanjing. Xu Nanping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, proposed that China's membrane science and technology industry must enhance its independent innovation capability during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period and achieve the overall goal of creating a 100 billion yuan scale membrane industry. It must fully integrate science and technology, markets, government, finance and other factors. The industry builds a platform for technology research and development, results incubators, and public services. Through the integration of resources, it accelerates the transformation of achievements, solves common problems, and develops key technologies in the industry.

"According to rough estimates, the long-term market for China's film industry is a trillion yuan scale, which is in sharp contrast to the current market of 30 billion yuan. What really restricts the development of the film industry is worth pondering." Xu Nanping introduced last year, China The number of papers published by Membrane Scientists in the International Journal of Membrane Authorities (JMS) has surpassed that of the United States in terms of the number of papers in the world, and the cited number is also close to the second in the United States. This shows that the scientific level of membrane technology in China is not low, but industrial competitiveness There is no corresponding increase.

It is understood that the high-end application market for membrane materials, which is called the membrane industrial chip, accounts for only about 10% in China. In a representative example of reverse osmosis desalination, the proportion of membranes in China is only 1% to 3%. "If you compare the film industry to computers, then what we are doing now is just assembly. The competitiveness of the chips is weak." He added that not scientists are not willing to cooperate with companies, but the real connection is difficult to carry out. There are many talks about cooperation between industry, universities and research institutes. However, most of them are actually researchers who start businesses and manage companies. Various resources have not been fully integrated. This does not really enlarge the film market. Similarly, if a company with a certain size cannot continue to have core technology, it is difficult to further develop it.

Xu Nanping introduced that last year the Nanjing Institute of Membrane Materials Technology was formally approved. This is an exploration of the film industry to create a resource integration platform. It is hoped that valuable technologies will be attracted here, and scale-up and talent team training will be conducted. When the time is ripe, it will be packaged together with capital and industrial resources for integration.

Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician Gao Congzheng and China Film Industry Association Secretary General Eugende and many other participants also believed that it would take five years for the film market to grow from 30 billion yuan to hundreds of billions, and it would not be feasible to rely on traditional development models. It is imperative to promote a national-level industry platform and work together to solve common technical problems facing the industry.

The forum was hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Materials and Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University of Technology and the China Film Industry Association. More than 20 senior executives from government, academics, industry associations, and corporate and financial circles attended the forum.
