Photovoltaic intelligent means assists inverter selection

The inverter is the most important equipment of the photovoltaic power station and the fundamental guarantee of the power generation capacity of the power station. Due to the large number of manufacturers of inverters in China, how to accurately evaluate various inverters through practice and gradually form a sound competition mechanism for photovoltaic equipment wins and loses is a key issue for PV industry management.

Through the statistical analysis of inverter operating data from different manufacturers, we can see the quality of the equipment manufacturers' products. If the work is completely based on manpower, the workload is very huge, but the photovoltaic power generation intelligent information management system is easy to give. Solved the answer to this question.

The system plays an important role in the inspection of design results, evaluation of operational efficiency of photovoltaic modules, and monitoring of inverter operation, thus providing valuable reference data for future selection of power station equipment and optimization of power station design.

Inverter conversion efficiency analysis

Taking the photovoltaic power plants A and B of Qinghai Province as an example, after analyzing the actual operating data of 13 models of 13 inverters of different manufacturers in the project, it was found that the average conversion efficiency of the inverter at the A station was the highest. The efficiency can be maintained at 98.6%, and the average conversion efficiency of the inverter with the lowest efficiency is 95.8%. The difference between the two is 2.8%, which is quite large.

Affected by the operating environment such as ambient radiation intensity, air temperature, and atmospheric pressure, the conversion efficiency of the same type of inverter at different power stations also differs greatly. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 show the average conversion efficiency of the inverters of the two power plants A and B, respectively.

For the currently popular 500kW inverter, if the conversion efficiency is increased by 1%, the inverter can generate nearly 25 degrees more electricity per day and 5300 degrees more electricity per year under the most powerful weather conditions. The higher the conversion efficiency of the inverter, the higher the conversion efficiency of the photovoltaic power generation system, the smaller the total power generation loss of the system, and the higher the system economic efficiency. Therefore, when the rated capacity of a single unit is the same, the inverter with higher efficiency should be preferred when designing the power station.

Photovoltaic intelligent information management system gives the actual conversion efficiency of inverters of various manufacturers, providing the basis for the future selection of power plant equipment, design optimization, and also provides strong data support for the development of photovoltaic equipment market.
